Introduction
Purpose of the Software: FreshGuard is a mobile application designed to help users keep track of their kitchen items and manage their expiration dates. Users can monitor the expiration dates of their food items, easily add items using the barcode scanner and object recognition features, and receive notifications before the items expire.
Application Installation
Installing on iOS Devices
- Go to the App Store.
- Search for "FreshGuard".
- Download and install the application.
- Launch the app from your home screen.
Using the Application
Registration and Login
- Upon opening the app, choose to register or log in.
- For new accounts, click "Register" and fill in the necessary details.
- If you already have an account, click "Login" and enter your credentials.
Add Food
- Navigate to the "Add Food" screen.
- Enter the item details: name, expiration date, and location.
- Click "Add Food" to save the item.
- Navigate to the "Add Food" screen.
- Click "Scan Barcode" and align the barcode within the camera frame.
- If successful, enter the expiration date and location, then click "Add Food". ⌄
- Navigate to the "Add Food" screen.
- Click "Add with Cam" and capture the item.
- Review the recognition result, then enter the expiration date and location.
- Click "Add Food" to save the item.
Tracking Expiration Dates and Notifications
The app tracks expiration dates automatically and sends timely notifications. You can adjust notification settings in the profile page.
Exporting Shopping Lists to PDF
Export your food lists to PDF for easy sharing or printing. Navigate to the "Food List" section and click "Export to PDF".
Adding Items via OCR from Receipts
Use OCR technology to scan receipts and quickly add multiple items to your inventory. Navigate to the "More" section and select "Scan Receipt".
Deleting Food Items
- Click the trash icon next to the item in your list.
Switching Dark/Light Mode
- Go to the Profile Screen.
- Toggle between dark and light mode according to your preference.
Viewing Days Remaining
See how many days are left until each item expires on the Expiring Soon screen.
